Thunderbird opens browser window | hot online

My Thunderbird has a strange life of its own: it keeps opening a browser window. It used to call an invalid address, now the window is blank. Neither an update of Thunderbird nor a change of browser were able to fix the problem. What else can I try?

First of all, you should prevent accessing external content in messages in the settings. You can find this under data protection/e-mail content. In the advanced settings you should additionally mail.inline_attachments and javascript.enabled on false put. You can call up the advanced settings in the general settings via the “Edit configuration” button at the bottom of the menu. Then Thunderbird should no longer be able to run active content without asking.
