This solutions can help in such a case:

  • Open the wp-config.php file in a text editor and save the file in UTF-8 format without BOM
  • Open the wp-config.php file and check if there is a space or a paragraph at the beginning or at the end. Remove superfluous characters. If you feel unsure, create a new wp-config.php.
  • Check other WordPress files for a space or paragraph at the request or at the end.
  • Deactivate all plugins by FTPing the folder under /wp-contents/plugins rename it, for example to /wp-contents/_plugins. Then check again whether a login is possible. If so, enable each plugin individually to find out which extension is causing the error.
