I installed Thunderbird on another computer. Now I miss the search box in the top right of the toolbar that searches mail in all accounts and folders. There is a search box on my old computer. How can I reactivate this?
You have probably not activated the “Global Search” in the new Thunderbird installation. Open Settings and scroll down to “Search Indexing”. Check the “Enable global search and message indexing” box. Then the search box should appear again. If it still doesn’t appear, right-click the toolbar and select Customize from the context menu. From the items displayed, fish out the “Global Search” text box and use the mouse to drag it to the desired location on the toolbar.
