The WordPress community is buzzing with excitement over the recent release of version 6.4, which introduces a host of new media features aimed at enhancing user experience. Among these innovations are duotone filters, customizable aspect ratios, and the integration of Openverse. As we progress into Gutenberg Phase 3, more media enhancements are anticipated.

Introducing the New Lightbox Functionality

One of the standout features of WordPress 6.4 is the new lightbox functionality that enhances the way images and galleries are displayed. This feature will soon be compatible with MetaSlider slideshows, allowing users to create more engaging visual content.

How it Works

The WordPress team has released a brief video showcasing the lightbox feature within the new “Site Editor.” To access this functionality, simply navigate to the right sidebar and select the “Expand on click” option.

Effortless Integration in Your Posts

With this new feature, you can easily implement lightboxes in your WordPress posts. Each image or gallery block will now include the “Expand on click” option. When visitors view an image in your post, it will appear smaller than its full-sized counterpart. With just a click, they can expand the image to see a larger, more detailed version, enhancing their overall experience.

Stay Tuned for More Updates

As the WordPress platform continues to evolve, users can look forward to more enhancements that will improve website interactivity and visual appeal.
