#heiseshow – On prescription digital: Will the e-prescription also be a recipe for success?
In most cases, anyone who gets a prescription from a doctor still carries a colorful piece of paper from the doctor’s office to the pharmacy. Many patients ask themselves why it still has to be so analogue today, since many things in everyday life have long been digitally possible. With the e-prescription there should be a digital replacement in the future. But that’s not all, it should increase security and be counterfeit-proof.
But getting there is anything but easy: Medical practices and pharmacies often have to rethink and, above all, upgrade their technology. Patients who are not so technically savvy in particular have concerns as to whether they and their existing technology are up to the digital prescription.
How exactly does the e-prescription work? What are the pros and cons? What is your experience with it so far? What technical requirements will patients, medical practices and pharmacies have to meet in the future? And is it still possible to use a slip of paper?
