Every WordPress user knows the problem: For most media, only 64 MB is activated on the server side – from the hoster – all media with a larger volume are not transferred from WP to the CMS, you have to look for other solutions.
bypass limit?
Plugins advertise to circumvent or increase the limit programmed into the CMS and actually do so. The user is happy – until he wants to upload a media of 65 MB with the media uploader and realizes that the server-side limit of the hoster remains.
Filezilla and Co.
Of course you can use Filezilla and Co. to upload media of any size to the host server. The problem with this is that the limit remains, and the uploaded media is not visible in the WP media center. Although you have then loaded the media into your CMS, WP does not know that there are media waiting for him in the upload folder.
Add From Server plugin
The above plugin brings the solution here. You install the plugin and a submenu of the plugin appears in the WP media uploader. With this menu it is now possible to tell WP that media is waiting for him on the server. Find the upload folder, mark the media, and they are in the media center and can be edited further.
